Fully Present
I have never in my life been a part of something so incredibly powerful and beautiful and moving! I went solo this week, sat in a row all by myself but felt the presence of my God in our building of worship. Our family in Christ was so engaged, so moved, so FULL of His grace and praise was mighty. I left with no voice (and no headache). I sung so load, out of tune & off key, for sure, but I sung with my whole heart. I felt blessed by our worship team and their talent and the beauty that they possess… it resonated and lifted the entire place like never before. It was such a heart pounding, mind blowing, GIFT.
We were also given a blessing from guest pastors who ignited the place into this incredible power of love and passion for Jesus. Many people were brought to tears, me included. She spoke in Spanish and had an interpreter but as a dear friend said today as we chatted over breakfast, we didn’t even really listen to the English words because we FELT the power and the message so strongly. It was amazing. Honestly.
I feel so lucky that I was invited to be a part of this loving family. I haven’t been much of a church-goer all my life but my life is ever changing and it is now a new season, a new chapter and this is where I belong. I am humbled to be accepted so graciously by genuine souls. It is where I need to be at this point in my life. I wish my family would join me and hopefully some day they will want to but I am doing this for me. I want to go even if it means I go solo. I want to be a part of this soul stirring love. So I will. It is so different than the average conception of “church” and what it means… as my pastor said recently… “it is a family gathering on Sunday.” Love that. So love it.
I want to encourage you to seek the Lord at all times in your life. I want you to be of confidence knowing that you can be a part of something greater and powerful and beautiful. You belong.
Take a walk in faith and try something new. You might find out that you love it or you don’t but at least you tried!! Reach out to someone new. Listen, really listen to them. Give them your full attention and be fully present.
Maya Angelou once said, “If you must look back, do so forgivingly. If you must look forward, do so prayerfully. However, the wisest thing you can do is to be present in the present…gratefully.”
Be a blessing! XO
Listen to the first song that had me chair dancing and singing out loud with joy!!

Today’s scripture:
– Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart – Col 3:23
– Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in it’s various forms. – 1 Peter 4:10
